Our Practice

Hello!

Sale Creek Veterinary Services is a mobile veterinary service dedicated to the care of small ruminants. We are located just outside of Chattanooga, TN. We see goats, sheep, llama, and alpaka. Examinations, lab work and some surgeries are done on your farm. Major surgeries may be sent to our small animal hospital in Chattanooga in order to provide state of the art anesthesia and sterility. Future plans are to provide mobile ultrasound but currently all ultrasounds are also done at our small animal hospital.

Dr. Thigpin is the leader of the Hamilton County Goat 4-H club. This club is for children ages 9-19 in the Hamilton County area. Please browse our 4-H pages for more information on the club. All interested children are encouraged to attend even if they do not own goats.

Our hospital publishes a monthly newsletter dedicated to the care of goats. All newsletter articles are posted in our library but if you would like to receive an e-copy of our newletter please e-mail us at yourgoatdoc@msn.com.

Dr. Thigpin graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. She has worked at Ashland Terrace Animal Hospital in Chattanooga, TN since that time. Her primary focus of medicine has been cancer treatment, ultrasonography, and ophthalmology. In 2002, with the birth of her second son, Dr. Thigpin cut her small animal practice to part time in order to spend time with her children. That was when she decided to begin raising dairy goats and got “hooked!” Since that time she has been treating and seeing small ruminant patients as well as giving lectures and working with the Hamilton county 4-H goat club. Dr. Thigpin is married to Keith and has two sons, Brian and Allen.
